Sun lamps have now been found to be more damaging to the skin than natural sunlight. Skin cancer rates are soaring with deaths from skin cancer increasing every year.

FAQ

How long does it take to have a spray tan? We allow 15 mins to complete a spray tan.

How long does the spray tan take to develop? Aussie Bombshell Sunless Spray Tan should be left on between 2.5 and 4 hours, depending on the intensity of the tan required. We recommend that clients have a shower no earlier than 2.5 hours after being sprayed to ensure enough colour variation on the skin. Once showered, the tan will tan a further 24 hours to develop to its full intensity.

Why can’t you wear moisturiser, deodorant, perfume or make-up to your spray tan appointment? Any of these products create a barrier on the skin that will prevent the spray tan from sticking to the skin. These barriers can also make the spray tan appear green when sprayed directly onto the skin due to a chemical reaction between the barrier and the tan solution.

Will the spray tan stain my clothes? Most spray tans contain a lot of bronzers that will wash out of your clothes in the machine. It is recommended that you wear loose dark clothing to your spray tan appointment to minimise tan transfer.

I look very dark after having a spray tan. Should I be concerned? No. The initial colour sprayed on the skin, is a guide for the technician to see where they have sprayed onto the body. Most of this residue will wash off when you have a shower.

Does sunless tanning protect you from the sun? No, sunless spray tan does not protect against UV rays. Sunscreen is still required when outdoors after having a spray tan.

Can I get a spray tan if I’m pregnant? This is personal choice. DHA – the active ingredient in spray tan is sugar-based and non-toxic in nature and the spray tan itself does not absorb into the bloodstream. It is recommended that you wear a mask and not have your face sprayed to reduce any inhalation of the product. Like anything during your pregnancy, if you are unsure, please consult your specialist before considering a spray tan.

Can I get a spray tan if I’m breast-feeding? Yes! Spray tanning while breast-feeding is completely fine. The spray tan solution does not absorb into the blood stream or affect the milk supply. Ask your technician to avoid spraying onto the nipple area, or wear a bra/bikini top/disposable nipple covers whilst tanning.

How long does a spray tan last? Depending on individual skin type and how well the client looks after their tan beforehand and afterwards, most Aussie Bombshell Sunless Spray Tans last between 5-7 days. Ensure post-tan you keep your skin moisturised, and if you are travelling on aircraft stay well hydrated on your journey.

After Tan Care

1. Do not get your skin wet and avoid activities that case perspiration before showing.
2. You may shower 2.5 to 4 hours after your Tan.
3. After your shower pat your skin dry with a towel, avoid rubbing. Moisturise daily.

Note: Using hot baths, chlorinated pool and spas will reduce the life of your tan.

Important: Spray tanning does not provide any sun protection. Please wear an SPF30 sunscreen during exposure to the sun.
