Day Spa FAQs for Pregnant Women and New Mums

Can I get a massage while I am pregnant?

Providing it is after the first trimester of pregnancy (after 3 months) Pregnancy Massage is both safe and beneficial for expectant mums to receive massage up to the due date and beyond.

The frequency of massage throughout your pregnancy varies as each women and pregnancy is different. Usually massage is recommended once a month during the second trimester (3-6 months), and then more often during the third trimester (6-9months), but it’s very much up to what you feel you need.

At Keturah Day Spa we have a specifically designed 3-piece cushion which is securely attached to our treatment bed for your ultimate comfort during Pregnancy Massage. This allows Mums-to-be to safely lay flat on their tummy for ultimate relaxation. As your baby grows we can increase the size of the hole depending on your needs.

Massage is a great way for expectant mums to alleviate discomfort and prepare their body for the experience of giving birth. If you have special circumstances however, you should contact your doctor before booking an appointment.

Is waxing safe while I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

Waxing is perfectly safe as its all natural, containing no chemicals or ingredients that could potentially harm your baby. Many women will go about the normal waxing treatments but it’s not uncommon for some to stay away from waxing during their pregnancy due to the increased blood flow and hyper sensitivity. For this reason, it’s ideal to test on a small area beforehand and inform your beauty salon that you’re pregnant.

Hair removal creams however do contain chemicals so it’s strongly advised you stay away from them.
